Welcome to the Kent Metropolitan League website.
The KentMet League was set up initially for the 1997/1998 season. It was the natural development, following the success the previous season, of the East Kent Leagues, organised by John Carley.
There are five league tables consisting of the junior sides from the majority of the rugby clubs in the North West area of Kent, and the South East quadrant of London, with some 27 clubs involved providing 54 teams evenly spread over the five leagues. In recognition of the main County sponsors for Kent RFU, Shepherd Neame Limited, each of the five leagues has been named after one of the brewer's ales, namely, Spitfire, Bishops Finger, Master Brew, Late Red, and Early Bird.
The main aim is to encourage the playing of rugby at the senior level by providing a fixture list for a season as full as possible and at the appropriate level with the minimum of travel involved. There is no system of promotion or relegation, but at the end of the each season, amendments are made depending upon a team’s performance. Ultimately, it is the aim to provide 30 plus players the chance to enjoy themselves each Saturday by continuing to play rugby at the right level and indirectly to help clubs financially, via their bar profits, to have a full workable Fixture List during the season.

Trying to keep everyone one happy there has been another minor adjustment. Met Pol Knights have gone back
to their original League and so have Guys Hospital II. Hoprfully, we should have the Fixture dates sorted out
by the middle of next week. But just to warn you, we will be following the main League dates, so there will be
games on the International dates. Clive.

Here are the latest set of results and tables, and you will note a couple of unusual results.
I still need to clarify the MP game against Shoots. It seems everyone enjoyed themselves even
though there were a considerable number of MP players available. It appears that MP conceded the game. -Clive.
